The work is artisanally cast in the cire perdue technique. Depending on the sculpture&#8217;s appearance, Tom sometimes finishes a sculpture by grinding and patinating.<\/p>\n<p>But increasingly, Tom leaves the casting skin of the sculptures intact; they are then forced to cool down after casting, creating a red patina on the skin. This creates an archaic, delicate look, leaving part of the casting process still visible.
